Vocal Music Director Keith Hadley directs two choirs at SHS: Women's Chorus, an entry-level group for female singers, and Varsity Choir, an audition-only mixed choir. They attend various workshops and festivals, as well as performing at concerts and special events throughout the year. The annual Valentine Cafe concert/fundraiser in February is a community favorite. Mr. Hadley also directs the spring musical, which has featured some of Broadway's best-loved shows, including "The Music Man" and "Guys & Dolls." |

Destination Imagination is a group of students who work together as a team to find creative solutions to solve a problem. The problem students solve ranges from structure building to theater arts. The team meets once a week on Sundays and is coached by Joyce Betz, who has been involved with the program for 9 years. Teams consist of no more than 7 members and begin working in early December. Participants in this program have the opportunity to attend a regional, state, and world competition. Students from elementary to high school are eligible to participate. The Drama Club was designed for students who are interested in working in the field of Theater Arts. Students who join the Drama Club given the opportunity to participate in the production of the high school plays. The advisor for the Drama Club is Jackie Merritt, who has been involved in working with the club for a few years. Drama Club meetings are every Monday after school in the cafeteria. Students from 6th to 12th grade are able to be in the Drama Club. | |

The Equestrian team was started in 2000 by Jessica Kopulas. To receive a varsity letter an individual must score 8 points which is equivalent to a 1st place ranking. You can place 1st (8 points) through 8th (1 point) place at meets. There are typically 3 meets which are held in September at the Ingham County Fairgrounds in Mason. The team is coached by Jeanne Hammontree and Diane Hamilton. | |

FFA is a national organization that allows students interested in any part of the agriculture and natural resources fields to further their knowledge and gain new experiences in leadership. Springport FFA students compete in contests, attend leadership conferences, state and national conventions, and organize community service events. Mrs Merrill and Mr.Glaspie are the chapter advisors. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month and students from middle to high school are allowed to join. The spring musical at SHS has become a highly-anticipated event each year. Past productions have included "The Music Man," "Cincerella," "Once Upon a Mattress," and "Calamity Jane", and "Rapunzel" is sure to enthrall audiences this March.

The National Honor Society is an organization for resourceful students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, contribute to the school or community, uphold the principles of morality, and understand the importance of civic involvement. Members of NHS meet during seminar with advisor, Mrs. Hale. NHS participates in community service projects such as Adopt-a-Highway and a local blood drive. The Quiz Bowl team compete against all schools in the Big 8 in an intense trivia showdown. The team answers difficult scholastic trivia questions and have the opportunity to compete on television at MSU's WKAR television studio. Meetings for Quiz Bowl are held during lunch time with advisor, Mr. Hartley. | |

The Student Council is the governing body of the students at Springport High School. Members of the Student Council are elected at the beginning of each school year and meet mostly during seminar. The purpose of the Student Council is to solve problems within the student body and coordinate school events such as assemblies, dances, homecoming and winterfest. Mrs. Merrill and Mrs. Overweg are the advisor. | |
