SPARTAN SPOTLIGHT

CITIZEN OF THE MONTH - APRIL

Hattie Gray – Mrs. Gonzalez’s 3rd Grade

It is my pleasure to introduce Hattie Gray as Citizen of the Month for March.  Hattie is kind, caring, considerate, compassionate, honest, and fun; the list of words to describe Hattie go on and on!  She is well liked and respected by her classmates and she demonstrates amazing leadership skills. Every day is a pleasure to spend in the classroom with Hattie!

Emilee Castle - Mrs. Wade Kindergarten

It is my pleasure to nominate Emilee Castle as Citizen of the Month for April. When you do a google search, the following definition comes up for what it means to be a good citizen: A good citizen is one who respects others and their property. A good citizen can also be defined as someone who works hard to make the world a better place, makes contributions to society and is always working to learn new things about people and the world. Good citizens are often kind and care about others. I have caught Emilee many times being respectful to her classmates. Emilee listens when others are speaking, she patiently waits her turn when others are sometimes rushing around her and she quietly waits for learning to begin when it is time for a lesson to get started. When someone needs help cleaning up, she steps right in and lends a helping hand. Emilee works hard to make our classroom a better place by smiling every day at the people around her, following the classroom rules and setting an example for her peers of what it looks like to be a successful learner at Springport. Kindness and caring are two traits that Emilee displays on a daily basis. She gives great hugs and has a gentleness that adds a lot to our classroom. I can't think of anyone more deserving for Citizen of the Month in our class than Emilee Castle!

Did you know there's an easy way to help us raise money for our school - for books, band uniforms, reading programs and anything else that can use extra funding?  Kroger have programs in place so when you shop we earn $!

Kroger Community Rewards (KCR) makes supporting community organizations as simple as shop, scan, and earn! Once you've registered, a % of each of your shopping trips will be contributed to the organization you've selected every time your card is scanned. Registering is as simple as updating the Community Rewards field on your My Account page with the information of the organization you wish to support.

ALSO - The Elementary has a box in the office for Labels for Education. Collect Campbell's soup labels and box tops from participating products like Glad, General Mills, Pepperidge Farms, certain beverages, stationery and magazines. Clip/Give/Earn!
